CarbonCool®
CarbonCool® Full Body Suit™
A portable passive cooling system for professional heat-stroke care and post-cardiac-arrest targeted temperature management.

01 / Components
Components
Explore the cooling units, holders, transport bag and portable freezer.

MPad™ cooling units
Frozen ahead of use, then placed into the suit's holders for passive heat exchange against the skin, needing no power during treatment.

Pad holders
TPU holders position MPads across the chest, abdomen and thigh, keeping frozen units off bare skin. Sizes: paediatric, adult standard, adult extended and larger adult.

CarbonCool® Bag
The insulated bag keeps MPads at thermal readiness for up to 12 hours, sized for ambulances, vehicles and portable kits.

Portable freezer unit
A mobile freezer prepares MPads on mains AC or vehicle DC power where a facility freezer is unavailable, compatible with every CarbonCool® MPad configuration.
02 / Performance and preparation
Cooling performance and preparation
Published cooling-rate measurements, preparation requirements and patient suitability.
CarbonCool® cools patients at 7.2°C/hr in controlled conditions and 0.12°C/min in field conditions. Cooling rates depend on the protocol, patient group and setting; comparisons should account for those differences.
Core body cooling rate: Tan et al., 2017. Field cooling rate: SAF/DSO field study; Tan et al., 2017.
Treatment requirements and patient suitability
- Separate temperature monitoring
- Use the system with an appropriate core temperature monitoring device throughout treatment.
- Patient size considerations
- The Full Body Suit™ is intended for adults. For patients under 35 kg, the system may only be used for normothermia treatment.
03 / Evidence
Research on the Full Body Suit™
Assess the suit against the protocols and patient groups in the published research. Combined cooling interventions do not establish the effect of the suit alone.
